This is such an intersting and sad story. Look at Ed's picture (I do not know him personally) and you can see the sickness in this man.

I personally get the horror and dispair that the investors are feeling, having lived in the Laguna Niguel/DP area for over 30 years. I am not sure that outside of this community there will be alot of sympathy for the investors. Here are my reasons.

I have talked about this story with friends, and they look at me with blank stares. It is like, ok, some rich, Orange Coast people lost their money, now let's talk about the fact that I don't have health insurance because I can't afford it, or my husband just lost his job, or a credit card company just got a judgment against me, or my house is in foreclosure, or I am one paycheck away from living on the street. See what I mean?

Suzie Orman would have a field day with people who invest their life savings in such things as yachts and boat slips. I think a young, single mom (and I was that at one time) would have to have some huge you know whats to invest in this kind of thing and be able to sleep at night.

Tom, as always, is doing a fabulous job on this story, and it is so captivating, despite the luxury setting and the foolishness of this kind of investing. I swear there is a movie in this one, and I hope Tom keeps writing about it and getting to the bottom of it.

I know one thing for sure, looking at this guy's picture, he is not a happy man, nor is he at peace. I hope he contacts you, Tom

KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR ED !!!

At 12:45 pm on Monday, September 21st, a credible person "thought" they saw Ed driving down Dana Point Harbor Drive in a black Dodge diesel truck.

Any update??? Enjoyed Mary Lou's take son the story somewhat.
Glad that she sounds like she could relate, too bad her friends don't seem to "get it"...
Fortunately I personally don't have friends that are in dire situations...everyone just seems to be swimming against the current, but maintaing just at a slower pace...
Let us know if any updates on Ed....Sharon

Years ago I was talking with Ed about charting boats out of St. Martin. Ed said "make sure you sail over to Anguilla".

He said "I could easily live there"

Anyone chartering a boat there, should maybe keep your eyes open. St. Martin, St. Barths, Anguilla. St. Kitts, any of those Islands.

And No Mary Lou, since you didn't know him, We don't see what you mean. You have no idea what your talking about. You sound like a hind-sited gossip hound.
